A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient. Through a special preparation process, platelets are separated and subsequently concentrated in a small residual volume of blood plasma. Platelets contain growth factors that play a special role in tissue healing. This plasma concentrated with platelets is used to treat the patient.

A double spin technology using the Ostekine®ProGen kit generates 4 mL of true PRP (ø 4.9 x baseline PLT count). Platelets carry Growth Factors and other cytokines that are released from their alpha granula upon activation at the site of injection.
